The melodic death metal formation Nightrage may be less popular than the big names from this scene (think of In Flames and Arch Enemy), the band has stood for quality for more than twenty years. Especially the debut album Sweet Vengeance (2003) can safely be described as a genre classic. In the years that followed, the company around guitar hero Marios Iliopoulos delivered one excellent album after another. The recipe invariably consists of the same ingredients – strong, melodic riffs, good choruses and enough aggression to give the whole thing a strong kick – but chef Iliopoulos manages to make a tasty whole every time.
