What I like about Nightrage (and to separate my position I am not a fan of the genre) is that they do what they like without thinking about the consequences (aka sales, popularity), thinking of themselves as fans so they look much more true and from true metallers. They have no trace of doubt if they do the right thing because they simply do what they want, they are not influenced by experimentation and progressive forms and they are proponents of old school melodic death metal as recommended to us by the giants In Flames, Amon Amarth etc.
