Climaxing their trilogy Nightrage have ended this trio of album on a high with Abyss Rising, melodeath how it should be done.
“Abyss Rising” is the last chapter in a trilogy, and their 9th album. It’s impressive that a band can deliver such a strong album after more than 20 years.
I knew Nightrage would produce something good, but I wasn’t expecting it to be quite as good as this is. Nightrage know how to pen a good tune, and this album is full of them. Abyss Rising is the sound of a talented band hitting it out of the park. If you’re a fan of the style, don’t miss out on this, as there’s a lot here to enjoy.
There isn’t a single dull moment on this album if you’re a melodic death fan. Anyone fond of the “Gothenburg sound” initially captured by At the Gates, Dark Tranquillity, and In Flames in the 1990s should absolutely love NIGHTRAGE’s Abyss Rising. The seemingly endless cascade of great riffs, guitar harmonies (both clean and distorted), and masterfully blended harsh vocals alone should make even the most elitist melodic death fan smile.
