Lions metal live review

The evening continued with Nightrage, who offered a much more melodic version of death metal, but one that was just as effective! Having seen them the previous year, I knew what to expect, but I was still just as electrified by their simultaneously aggressive and catchy sound, whether it was the staccato patterns that had the crowd headbanging or the piercing guitar leads of Marios Iliopoulos, who didn’t hesitate to answer Konstantinos Togas, helping him with clean vocals while the latter roared to reinforce the bestial side of the songs. There were few surprises in this show, which was perfectly executed from start to finish, but the vocalist added a touch of irony with “Last year we were in Lyon, you were louder,” which got the crowd going even harder, and the band greeted one of their Mexican fans who had come especially for the occasion. We could have easily gone back for more!
